Bomakawya is a manuscript relating a shadow puppet story featuring the characters of Kresna, Samba and Sang Boma. This manuscript used the Balinese language and was written during the era of the development of the Hindu-Buddha kingdoms in Java. The manuscript tells of the devastating war between Krishna and Boma. Krishna appeared as Vishnu in a terrible form, a thousand-headed monster with a giant eagle. Boma became an adikrodati form having the same size. However, he was hit in his head by Vishnu during an attack, and his crown fell off, causing Wijayamala (Boma’s magic power) to be taken over by Vishnu who then turned back into Krishna.
